Now supports most Canon EOS and PowerShot models!
GBTimelapse is a Windows application for the capture of time-lapse sequences. It
controls a Canon camera connected to your computer by a USB or Firewire cable.
The camera's settings are changed and images are captured using the computer
rather than the camera controls. A series of time-lapse images can be gathered
automatically while the camera and computer are left unattended.

Supported Canon Cameras
GBTimelapse is designed to work with Canon models which support remote capture.
If your camera came with Canon's Remote Capture software, it should be
controllable by GBTimelapse. But before you purchase GBTimelapse, download the
trial version and make sure it works with your camera.
Canon has a large number of camera models and introduces new models frequently.
Whenever Canon releases an update of its camera control drivers (about twice
per year) we incorporate those new drivers into GBTimelapse. We strictly
following Canon's programming guidelines, but we are unable to test every
camera model. Instead we rely on individuals like you to verify correct
operation with models we have not tested.

Feature Details
Flexible Window Layout
GBTimelapse uses multiple "docking panels" that you can rearrange to fit your
needs and the way your work. This is the latest in user interface technology
found in Windows Applications such as Microsoft Office.
Change Settings On-The-Fly
There are other remote capture programs that can do time-lapse, but GBTimelapse
is the only one designed specially for time-lapse. The most annoying thing
about other programs is that you have to stop capturing to make any changes to
the camera settings. With GBTimelapse you can changesettings (ISO, Tv, Av, WB
etc.) on-the-fly as well as change the time-lapse interval and stop time or
conditions.
Movie Preview
GBTimelapse displays a thumbnail animation of your time-lapse while you are
capturing the images. This gives you instant feedback on how your session is
going so that you can see what your movie will look like.
Live Viewfinder Histogram with RGB
GBTimelapse displays the histogram of the viewfinder image dynamically as well
as the histogram of images you capture. It also display the Red, Green and Blue
histograms along with the total luminance.
Complete Timelapse Progress Info
The Info panel display progress information during a time-lapse session
including frames captured, frames remaining and time when the next frame will
be captured.
Switch To Manual Mode
GBTimelapse provides a single step button to switch from Program, Tv or Av mode
to Manual mode using the settings from the last image captured. This is a great
help when setting up for a shot or when changing to manual during time-lapse
without having to stop capturing images.
Grid, Guide and Mask Aids
The Grid, Guide and Mask options are composition aids to help you compose an
image. The grid lines help with alignment, the guide box shows how an image
would be cropped, and the mask option is useful for composing widescreen
formats such as 16x9.
Sleep Cycle
Sleep Cycle mode for long term time-lapse. Capture can be suspended during a
specified time period each day. The times can be the same each day or relative
to sunrise or sunset. Sunrise and sunset times are calculated based on the
computer's GPS coordinates and time zone.
Email Notification
Email Notification mode for remote time-lapse. If you are running GBTimelapse on
a remote computer that has an internet connection, GBTimelapse will send status
emails periodically so you can monitor its progress. This feature requires
Windows XP Pro with Internet Information Services and SMTP server.
Onion Skin Overlay
GBTimelapse is also useful for stop frame animation, such as claymation, where
you move objects in the field of view. It superimpose to images to show the
difference in position of objects in the frame. This helps you make smooth and
realistic looking movements between frames.
Disables Computer Sleep Mode
It's important that your computer's energy saving policy not kick in and stop
your time-lapse session. GBTimelapse automatically prevents this from
happening. Other programs require that you remember to manually change the
settings.
Camera Error Recovery
All Canon PowerShot cameras controlled remotely will have capture errors sooner
or later. There are two types of serious errors, "Capture Failure" and "Camera
Lock-up". Capture Failure occurs when the camera simply fails to capture an
image. Camera Lock-up occurs when the camera captures an image, but fails to
send it to the computer.
GBTimelapse is designed to recover from both types of errors. It ignores Capture
Failure errors and asks the camera to capture another image. It attempts to
clear Camera Lock-up errors by disconnecting and then reconnecting the camera.
If the camera successfully reconnects, GBTimelapse continues with the
time-lapse session. In both case, GBTimelapse reports the error in the session
log.
